Butty was an exceptional Show Stock yellow Labrador. She was brought as a pet to play ball with & take on lovely walks which we did. But it became quite apparent there was more to this girl than met the eye. We decided to go & do some Gundog training which she took in her stride & we began competing. We won our Novice Dog Novice Handler award which put us up to Novice & up against Working stock Labrador’s she only went and won it! Totally fantastic, that made her up to an Open dog. A good friend of mine mentioned she would like to compete with her at Crufts in the show ring, so we agreed & Button worked her magic again, coming a very respectable 2nd out of 35 working Labradors. I’ve written an article on her success in a Gundog magazine. You see a Show Stock isn’t bred to work, and she loved it, I always said if she had had enough we would stop, she didn’t want to and just kept going. She loved children & enjoyed hotels & pooing at Gleneagles, much to my husbands horror. Anyone she met she would snuffle their pockets for treats, she was a dog of a lifetime & she’s taken me a journey I will always be grateful for & the friends for life I have met along the way. She leaves us all with a broken heart, but a life well loved and a life well lived. Our other 2 girls Billie & Bessie miss her so much. Thank you Dignipets for giving our beautiful girl a peaceful and dignified passing. Sorry for rambling, I just wanted to share her story ♥️
